Stylist magazine looking in to work place size discrimination

By Bob Toovey | 17 November 2009 | Filed under UK

Stylist Magazine is researching size discrimination in the work place. This weekly magazine is looking to interview anyone who has experienced this. It seems a female is preferred.

Anyone willing to talk about it (and I really hope there is) needs to contact the researcher TODAY!

Here are the details...

I am writing a piece for Stylist magazine (a weekly magazine released every Wednesday; you can see it at stylist.co.uk) about the problem of size discrimination in UK workplaces, and asking if legislation needs to be introduced to specifically make it illegal to discriminate against someone because of their size.

For the piece, I would like to talk to a woman who feels that in a previous job she did face size discrimination - and to get her views on whether she feels legislation would have helped and, if not, what might have done.

The interview would mean a short phone conversation with me and I think the magazine would like the person in question to provide a picture of themselves. They wouldn't be asked to identify the company in question or any individuals involved, just to tell their story.

Anyone who would like to be interviewed for the piece should contact Alice by email alicewignall@gmail.com or contact 07796 266548.
